My Doors lets you open the doors and gates you have access to from the MyWatchtower app when you are nearby — no card, clicker, or code required. This guide is for residents.
What My Doors Does
My Doors lists the doors and gates in your community that your account may open from the app. Your community draws an opening zone around each one. When your phone is inside that zone, you can open the door with a tap.
Where to Find It
- My Doors page — open My Doors from the app.
- Dashboard widget — a My Doors card appears on your Dashboard when you have doors you can open from the app.
- Wallet — your doors are also in the Wallet drawer beside your QR and PIN codes.
- Home screen or lock screen (Android) — add the MyWatchtower My Doors widget and pick one door for it. Tap it to open that door without opening the app; on the lock screen your phone asks you to unlock first.
If you do not see My Doors anywhere, your community has not set up app-openable doors for your account.
Opening a Door or Gate
- Step 1: Walk or drive up to the door or gate.
- Step 2: Open My Doors from the Dashboard card, the Wallet, or the My Doors page.
- Step 3: Read the door's line. You're here means you are inside its opening zone. Otherwise it shows how far you are from the zone's edge.
- Step 4: Tap Open.
Letting the Gate Open as You Arrive (Android)
For a gate your community has set up for it, My Doors offers Auto-open as I arrive. Turn it on for that door and allow location all the time when your phone asks. Then, when you drive toward the gate and reach its opening zone, the gate opens without a tap. Driving away from the gate does not open it.
Auto-open is per door, and you can turn it off at any time from the same switch.
Troubleshooting
- You're too far away from this door. Move closer — My Doors works inside the door's opening zone, not from across the community.
- Location prompt. My Doors needs your location to know which door you are near. If you declined the prompt, allow location for MyWatchtower in your phone's settings. Auto-open needs *Allow all the time*.
- Outside your access schedule. Your access to that door has hours, and it is outside them right now.
- A door is missing. Which doors you can open is set by your community. Ask your community's management office to review your access.
