Working an Incident

Once an incident is filed, its detail page is where you manage it from first report to resolution. This guide covers the action bar, editing, attachments, and closing out an incident; for filing one in the first place, see Log an Incident.

Open an incident

What the detail page shows

The page shows the incident's type with an Active or Closed status chip, the date and time in your community's timezone, who reported it, and the full Description & Notes. Depending on how the incident was filed you may also see:

The action bar

The buttons across the top are how you manage the incident. On smaller screens the same actions live in a single menu behind the three-dot button. What you see depends on your role's permissions:

Attachments

The Attachments panel shows everything filed with the incident, with a count. Click any attachment to view it full screen — images can be browsed with the arrow keys, videos play in place, and PDFs open in a viewer — and each can be downloaded.

Two things to know about how attachments are handled:

Staying informed

Community admins can subscribe to a daily incident summary email, so each day's filings arrive in their inbox without anyone generating a report by hand — see Generating Incident Reports.
