Generate a Community Log Report

Download a PDF or CSV report of the incidents of one day or a date range, and see the daily digest emails on the Report history tab.

You can download a report of the incidents in the Community Log of your community. A report covers one day or a date range. You get it as a PDF file or a CSV file. The Report history tab shows each daily digest email that MyWatchtower sent to the Admins of your community.

Incidents are part of the Community Log. In the app, the navigation item of the Community Log shows the name Reporting.

Before you start

  • The Community Log must be on for your community.
  • To generate a report, your role needs Reported incidents set to Add & edit.
  • To see the Report history tab, your role needs Reported incidents set to View.

By default, the Admin, Supervisor and Gate Attendant roles have both permissions. If you do not see Generate report or Report history, ask your community Admin about the permissions of your role.

Generate a report

1. Select Reporting in the navigation. Then select the Incidents tab. You can also select the Generate report card on the Dashboard tab.

2. Select Generate report. The Generate report dialog opens.

3. Select the period of the report:

  • Daily report: the report covers one day. Select the day in Report date.
  • Date range: the report covers more than one day. Select the first day in Start date and the last day in End date.

4. Under Export format, select PDF or CSV.

5. Optional: to leave out a type of incident, select Choose incident types. Then clear the check box of each type that you do not want. The Select all or Deselect all check box changes all the types at one time. When you leave out a type, a label beside Choose incident types shows how many types the report includes, for example 4 of 5.

6. Select Generate PDF or Generate CSV. The file downloads to your device, and the dialog closes.

The Generate report dialog, set to Date range and PDF, with each incident type selected

A PDF report can cover up to 100 days. If the date range is longer, the dialog shows an error, and you cannot generate the PDF. A CSV report has no limit on the date range.

If you typed a search term of 3 or more characters on the Incidents tab, the report includes only the incidents that match it. The dialog shows the search term before you generate the report. To include all incidents, clear the search field first.

The name of the file has the date of the report, for example Daily_Report_2026-05-14.pdf or Incident_Report_2026-05-07_to_2026-05-14.csv. A PDF report shows each incident with its type, time, property, notes and attachments, and the name of the person who reported it. A CSV report has one row for each incident, with its type, date, status, property, license plate, notes, the name of the person who reported it and a link to the incident in MyWatchtower. If an incident has no property, the report shows the coordinates of each map pin of the incident.

To download the report of one incident, open the incident. Then select Export, and select PDF or CSV. On a phone, select the actions button (⋮), then select Export PDF or Export CSV.

The server makes each report, so you cannot generate a report while the app is in offline mode. The dialog then tells you that report generation is not available.

The daily digest email

Each night, MyWatchtower sends a digest email to each Admin of your community. The email lists the incidents of the previous day, in the time zone of the community. It groups the incidents by type and shows the time, the property, the status and the notes of each one. If there were no incidents, the email says so.

Each Admin controls the digest in their own notification settings:

1. Open the settings of your account, then select Notifications.

2. Open the Community category, and find Daily incident digest. To get the digest, select its email check box. To stop it, clear the check box.

3. Optional: to get only some types of incident in the digest, select the expand button on the Daily incident digest row. Then select the types that you want. The expand button shows only while the email check box is selected.

The Report history tab

Select Reporting in the navigation. Then select the Report history tab. The tab shows one row for each daily digest that MyWatchtower sent. The newest digest is at the top. On a computer, the list shows these columns:

  • Report: the day that the digest covers, and the number of incidents of that day.
  • Categories: the incident types that the digest included.
  • Recipients: the number of people who got the email.
  • Sent: the date and time when MyWatchtower sent it.

The Report history tab, with the daily digests of three days

Select a row to see the email address of each recipient. When the email went to more than five people, the list shows the first five. To see the others, select Show and the number of the others, for example Show 12 more. To make the list short again, select Show fewer. To see the incidents of that day, select View reports. The Incidents tab opens, with the date range set to that day. The list shows the active incidents. To see the closed incidents of that day, select Closed.

If no digest was sent yet, the tab shows "No incident reports have been sent yet". The Report history tab does not show the reports that you download.
