Cameras: Live Feeds, Analytics, LPR, APM, and Motion Detection

The Cameras section of MyWatchtower brings your community's Eagle Eye Networks camera feeds, video search, and vehicle data into one place. It is available to community staff with camera access; Admins also manage camera setup under Settings.

The section has five tabs:

Live

The Live tab lists your cameras on the left with online/offline indicators and shows selected feeds in a grid — single view, 2×2, or 3×3. Use the search box to find a camera by name (for example "Main Gate"), click a name to add its feed, and use full-screen mode when you need a closer look. The refresh control reconnects all active feeds at once. At the start of a shift, check for offline cameras and report any issues promptly.

Analytics

Analytics lets you search recorded footage by describing what you are looking for instead of scrubbing through hours of video.

• Step 1: Open the Analytics tab and type a query such as "red car", "person", or "white delivery van" — or leave it blank to review all detected activity.
• Step 2: Pick a time range (from the last hour up to the last 7 days) and choose all cameras or a specific one.
• Step 3: Run the search. Results appear as thumbnails with a timestamp, camera name, and confidence score.
• Step 4: Click a thumbnail to play the clip and scrub the moments before and after the detection.

If you get too many results, narrow the query, shorten the time range, or pick a specific camera. If you get none, broaden the query (try "vehicle" instead of "red sedan") and confirm the camera was online during that window.

LPR

License plate recognition cameras read plates automatically as vehicles pass. Each LPR event records the plate number, vehicle color, direction of travel (entering, exiting, or passing), a confidence score, and captured images — a full-scene shot plus a plate close-up. Search by full or partial plate and filter by time range and camera. When an LPR capture lines up with a gate entry, the plate and vehicle details are attached to the matching entry record, so the entry log shows both who entered and what they were driving. Reads below roughly 85 percent confidence are worth verifying against the captured image, since characters like O/0 and B/8 are easy to confuse.

APM

The APM tab uses LPR entry and exit events to keep a running list of vehicles currently on the property — anything that has entered but not yet exited. It is a quick way to answer "who is still here right now."

Motion Detection

Communities with entry kiosks can review motion clips recorded at unstaffed gates from the Motion Detection tab. Access to this tab is permission-controlled separately from the Eagle Eye tabs.

Camera Settings (Admins)

Admins link cameras to access points under Settings, Camera Settings. Each access point card shows how many cameras are assigned; open its settings to add or remove cameras and choose whether each one captures on entry, on exit, or both. One access point can trigger several cameras, and one camera can serve several access points. Captured images attach to the corresponding entry record and follow your Eagle Eye storage retention plan.
