When there is movement at the gate, a kiosk tablet saves a short clip. Community staff can play these clips later on the Activity Clips tab, for example to see a vehicle that turned around before its entry. Residents do not see this tab.
Open the Activity Clips tab
1. In the navigation menu, select Cameras.
2. Select the Activity Clips tab.
The Cameras section shows the Activity Clips tab when your community has a paired kiosk tablet or saved clips. If your community also uses the Eagle Eye camera integration, the section also has the Live, Analytics, LPR and APM tabs, and it opens on Live. Without Eagle Eye, the section opens on Activity Clips.
Read the clip cards
The tab shows the clips of your community, with the newest clip first. Each card is one event at the gate. The card plays a short preview while it is on the screen. The bar at the bottom of the card shows the date, the time and the length of the clip.
- A chip such as +1 angle shows that more cameras of the kiosk saved a clip of the same event.
- A Cut short chip shows that the recording stopped early, for example when the tablet lost power. The clip plays up to the last footage that MyWatchtower received.
The tab shows 25 events on each page. Use the page controls under the cards to see older clips or to show more clips on each page.
Play a clip
Select a card to open the clip. The clip window shows the date and the time of the event and plays the clip.
- To see a different camera angle, select an angle button, for example Front or Left. If one camera saved more than one part, each part has its own button, for example Front · 1/2. The parts play one after the other.
- To go to the previous or the next event, select the arrow buttons or press the left or right arrow key. The counter between the arrows shows the number of the event, for example 2 / 6.
- To make the video larger, select the full-screen button.
- To save the clip on your device, select the download button.
- To close the window, select the close button.
Clips on entry records
When a visitor makes an entry at a kiosk, the entry page can also show the clip of that visit. Open the entry from Community > Entries. The clip is under Captures.
Permissions
The Activity Clips permission controls access to the tab. This permission is separate from the Cameras permission, so a role can have access to clips and no access to camera feeds, or the other way around. By default, the Admin, Supervisor and Gate Attendant roles have the Activity Clips permission. If you do not see the tab, ask your community Admin to check your role.
For admins
Each kiosk tablet controls its own clips. On the tablet, the kiosk setup has an Activity Clips step. Its Save clips on movement switch turns clips on or off for the kiosk. Each camera of the kiosk also has its own switch and its own sensitivity setting.
Camera Settings under Settings is for Eagle Eye cameras only. Activity Clips does not use it.
Need help?
If the clips of a gate do not show or do not play, use the Contact Support form in the app. JEKA can then check the kiosk tablet.
