Create a Visitor at the Gate

A visitor arrives who isn't in the system — no guest record, no vendor record, nothing to select. Mission Control lets gate staff create the record on the spot without leaving the workspace.

Check the existing visitor list first to avoid duplicates, and scan the visitor's driver's license before you start: the dialog pre-fills the name from the scan. See *Scanning Driver's Licenses*.

Open the dialog

Fill in the details

The Restricted switch turns the record into a deny-list entry ("Entry will be denied") — use it when management has told you the person must not be admitted. A restricted visitor requires an explicit duration choice.

When the record is actually saved

The new visitor is staged, not saved immediately: it is created when you record the entry. A normal visitor is saved when you approve their entry; a restricted visitor is saved when you deny it. If you clear the panels without recording, nothing is created. See *Record an Entry in Mission Control*.

Create a visitor vs. ask the resident to register

Creating at the gate is for one-off arrivals that need to be handled right now. For anyone who will visit again, the better path is for the household to register them from their own account — a registered guest or vendor can carry an entry schedule, an entry QR code, or a kiosk PIN, so their next arrival takes seconds. When in doubt, call the property's priority contacts, admit or deny per their answer, and suggest the resident add the visitor properly afterwards (see *How to Add Guests in Watchtower*).
