Enable QR Codes and Set the Daily Cap
Entry QR codes are a per-community feature: until you enable them, none of the QR surfaces exist for your residents or staff. This guide covers the community setting that turns them on and the daily-use cap that applies to unlimited-use codes.
Turn QR codes on
- Step 1: Go to Settings in the left navigation and open the Settings tab (community features). You need the community-settings permission to see it.
- Step 2: In the QR Codes section, turn on Enable QR codes.
- Step 3: Save your changes from the action bar. The page warns you if you try to leave with unsaved changes.
What turns on for residents and staff
With QR codes enabled:
- Residents can generate entry QR codes — from the dashboard's quick generate widget, from the QR Codes tab of their Property page, and while adding a guest or vendor (one-time, limited, or unlimited uses). Their codes appear in the wallet, ready to show full-screen for scanning.
- Staff with QR permissions get the community-wide QR Codes list and the printable gate poster in the Access module — see "Community QR Codes and the Gate Poster".
- Entry kiosks offer QR scanning as an entry method.
Turning the setting off hides these surfaces again.
Set the daily cap on unlimited codes
Entry QR codes can be one-time, limited, or unlimited use. For unlimited codes, Max uses per day — in the same QR Codes section — caps how many times a single code works in one day:
- The cap applies to unlimited-use codes; the default is 3 uses per day.
- Days are counted in the gate's local timezone.
