Horizon community websites can include a Digital Assistant — an AI chat that answers residents' questions about the community, any time of day. This guide explains where to find it, what to expect from a conversation, and how communities get it enabled.
The welcome message sets the scope: "I'm here to help answer questions about {Community}. Ask me anything!" Conversations don't carry over between visits — reloading the page starts a new session. If a message fails to send, you'll see an error asking you to check your internet connection and try again.
If you open the chat page and see "Chat Not Available" — "The chat feature is not configured for this site." — the Digital Assistant simply hasn't been turned on for your community yet. When it's off, the house-icon button doesn't appear at all.
Turning the Digital Assistant on is a JEKA-side configuration — there is no switch for it in your site's admin settings. If your community would like the assistant enabled (or it has stopped appearing), contact JEKA Support and we'll set it up for your site. Admins can separately control which roles can see the chat button through the Chatbots permission group in role permissions.
Contact JEKA Support to enable the Digital Assistant or to report a problem with it.
