Managing Vehicles

The Vehicles tab is where you add, edit, and remove vehicles registered to your property. Registered vehicles help gate staff — and automated license plate readers, where your community uses them — recognize who is arriving.

Getting to the Vehicles tab

• Step 1: Open your Property page.
• Step 2: Select the Vehicles tab.

You'll see every vehicle assigned to your property, with its year, make, model, and license plate. Use the search box at the top to find a specific vehicle.

Adding a new vehicle

Vehicles are created in the creation wizard, in a single Vehicle Details step.

• Step 1: Select Add Vehicle on the Vehicles tab.
• Step 2: Fill in the vehicle information — all of these are required:
• Year
• Make — the manufacturer, like Toyota or Ford
• Model — the specific model, like Camry or F-150
• Color
• State — where the vehicle is registered
• License Plate — enter it exactly; accurate plates matter most where plate readers are in use
• Step 3: Optionally, use Associate to (optional) to link the vehicle to someone. Choose an Association Type — Resident, Guest, or Vendor (staff can also link to a User) — then search for the specific person. Leave it as None to add the vehicle unassigned.
• Step 4: Select Create.

You'll see a confirmation and land back on your property's vehicle list.

Linking vehicles to people

Linking is optional, but it helps gate staff know who is driving which vehicle, and a linked vehicle can be suggested automatically elsewhere — for example when creating a credential for that person. You can link a vehicle to:

• Resident — someone who lives at your property
• Guest — a visitor on your guest list
• Vendor — a service provider on your vendor list
• User — an account holder (linked by staff or property managers)

You can also link a vehicle while creating a guest or vendor, using the Associate Vehicle (Optional) field in that wizard.

Editing a vehicle

• Step 1: Select the vehicle in the list.
• Step 2: Update the year, make, model, color, state, or license plate.
• Step 3: Save your changes.

Update plates promptly after a change — an out-of-date plate is the most common reason a plate reader doesn't recognize a vehicle.

Deleting a vehicle

• Step 1: Find the vehicle in your list.
• Step 2: Select the trash can icon next to it.
• Step 3: Confirm the deletion.

Once deleted, the vehicle is no longer associated with your property.
