Managing Your Property

Open your property page, switch between your properties, read the sections of the Property tab and learn what each property role can do.

Your property page shows everything about your property in one place. This article is for residents. It tells you how to open the page, how to switch between your properties, and what the Property tab shows. It also tells you what each property role can do. For a short tour of each tab, see *Property Module Overview*.

Open your property page

  • On a computer, select Property in the navigation. You can also select a property in My Properties on your dashboard.
  • On a phone, tap the center button in the bottom bar, then tap Property. The menu of the center button also opens the Visitors, Residents and Entries tabs.

The Property item shows only when you have a property in MyWatchtower.

Switch between your properties

The address of the property is at the top of the page. Under it are the city, the state, the ZIP code and the name of your community.

If you have more than one property, Select Property shows above the address. To open a different property:

1. Select the address.

2. Select the property in the list.

The page opens the Property tab of that property.

The tabs of your property

A strip of tabs is under the address. Some tabs show a number after the name. The number tells you how many records the tab holds. On a phone, swipe the strip to see each tab.

  • Property: the details of your property. This tab opens first.
  • Visitors: your guests, your vendors and your restricted visitors.
  • Residents: the people who live at your property.
  • Vehicles: the vehicles of your property.
  • Entries: the entries at the gate for your property.
  • Credentials: your kiosk PIN and your QR codes. This tab shows only when your community uses kiosk PIN codes or QR codes.

The Property tab

The Property tab has a row for each part of the property. Each row shows a one-line summary. Select a row to open it or close it. The Address row is open when the page opens.

  • Address: the Street, the City, the State and the ZIP code.
  • Occupancy: the Status (Occupied or Vacant), the Vacancy start date and the Vacancy end date. The status is Vacant only between the two dates.
  • Notes: the Property notes. Gate staff see these notes when they process a visitor for your address. If no one wrote a note, the row shows No property notes.
  • Call order: the people that gate staff call to verify a visitor, in the order to call them. Each contact shows its number in the order, the name, the phone number and the phone type.

On a computer, the call order is a card at the right side of the tab, named Who the gate calls.

To change the address, the vacancy dates or the notes, see *Edit Property Details*. To change the call order, see *Set Your Contact Priority List*. Put the person who is most likely to answer at number 1.

Residents and users

The Residents tab lists each person at your property. There are two kinds of people:

  • A User has a MyWatchtower account. The row shows the property role of the person and Has account. A user can sign in and use MyWatchtower for your property, by their property role.
  • A Resident has no account. The row shows No account. A resident cannot sign in. Use a resident record for children and other household members who will not use the app.

To find a person, type a name, an email address or a phone number in Search Residents.

To add a person, select Add Resident. See *Add a Resident to Your Property*. To edit or remove a person, see *Adding Household Members to Your Property*.

Property roles

Each user at a property has a property role. The role sets what the person can do at that property. A person can have a different role at each of their properties.

The default roles are Owner, Manager and Resident. By default:

  • A Manager can give a person only a role below Manager.
  • You cannot remove yourself from a property. Contact your community office.

A button shows only when your role can use it. If you do not see a button that this article names, ask the Owner of your property or your community office.
