Setting a Guest's Entry Schedule

Limit the days and the hours when a guest or a vendor can enter, when you add the guest or later.

An entry schedule limits the days of the week and the hours of the day when a guest or a vendor can enter. You set it on the Access step when you add the guest. You can change it later.

A schedule helps with a visitor who comes on a pattern. For example, a house cleaner can come only on weekdays, and a dog walker only in the morning.

The access period

On the Access step, under Access period, choose how long the access lasts:

  • Dated access: set a Start Date and an End Date. After the end date, the guest cannot enter.
  • Permanent access: select This is a permanent guest, or This is a permanent vendor. The access has no start date and no end date.

A schedule works with both kinds of access.

Set the schedule

1. On the Access step, select Advanced schedule (optional).

2. Under Which days can they visit?, select each day when the guest can enter. A selected day is filled in. To select a group of days, select Every day, Weekdays or Weekends.

3. To limit the hours, select Only during certain hours. Then set From and To. The hours apply to each selected day, in the local time of your community.

4. Read the summary under the schedule, for example "Access allowed weekdays (Mon-Fri), from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM."

5. Finish the wizard and select Submit.

Select at least one day. If you select no day, the wizard shows "Select at least one day." The To time must be after the From time.

When you do not open the schedule, the guest can enter on each day, at each hour of the access period.

The Access step on a phone. The advanced schedule shows the weekdays selected, the hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and the summary.

Change the schedule

1. Open the Visitors tab of your property.

2. Select the name of the guest. The Edit Guest dialog opens.

3. In the Entry schedule section, change the days or the hours.

4. Select Save.

A vendor has the same section in Edit Vendor.

The Edit Guest dialog on a phone for a permanent guest who can enter on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM

A restricted guest has no schedule, because the gate denies each entry for that guest.

What happens outside the schedule

  • At an unstaffed kiosk: the kiosk refuses the PIN or the QR code of the guest. The kiosk shows "PIN is not valid at this time" or "This QR code is not valid at this time."
  • In Mission Control: gate staff see the guest grayed out with an Outside schedule chip. They cannot select the guest for an entry. When gate staff scan the QR code of the guest, Mission Control does not select the guest. It shows a message with the allowed days and hours.
  • In the lists: the guest shows the allowed days and hours, so you can see the schedule at a glance.

If the plans of a guest change, change the schedule. A note does not change what the kiosk and Mission Control allow.
