The Analytics page shows the entries of your community as charts. Use it to see when traffic is high and which gates people use, for example to plan the hours of the gate staff.
To see Analytics, your role needs the reports read permission (reports:r). By default, the Admin, Supervisor and Gate Attendant roles have it. Residents do not.
Analytics is different from the camera analytics in Cameras and from the Community Log. This page shows only the entries of your community.
Open Analytics
1. Go to your dashboard, or to Mission Control.
2. At the top right, find the view selector. It shows Dashboard, Mission Control and Analytics. On a phone, the options are Home, Mission and Analytics.
3. Select Analytics.
The selector shows only the views that your role can use. If you do not see Analytics, ask your community Admin about your role.
The charts
The page has four charts. Each chart shows the approved entries and the denied entries.
- Entries by day: the entries on each day of the window.
- Entries by hour of day: the entries in each hour of the day.
- Entries by day of week: the entries on each day of the week.
- Entries by access point: the entries at each gate. Entries with no gate show as Unassigned.
A day or an hour with no entries does not show in the chart. Under each chart, Data through shows the time of the newest data. If a chart has no data, it shows "No entries in this window yet."
To see the numbers of a chart as a table, select Table view on the chart. To go back, select Chart view.
Set the time window
At the top of the page, select 7 days, 30 days or 90 days. The page opens on 30 days.
To set your own dates, select Custom. Then set From and To. The window can be at most 90 days long, and it cannot start more than 90 days ago. If the dates are not correct, the page shows a message, and the charts keep the last window that worked.
Totals and daily averages
Select Total to see the number of entries in each part of the chart. Select Daily average to divide each number by the days that it covers. Use Daily average to compare windows of different lengths.
Filter a chart
Each chart has its own filters. A filter changes only its chart.
- Entrant type: All, Guests, Vendors, Residents or Unknown. MyWatchtower counts the entries of users with the residents. There is no staff type.
- Access point: one gate, or All. The Entries by access point chart has no gate filter.
Share a view
The address of the page keeps the time window and the choice of Total or Daily average. Copy the address and send it to a colleague. A person with the reports read permission in your community sees the same window. The address does not keep the filters of the charts.
