How to Change Your Password
You change your password from the Security section of your account. MyWatchtower sends a reset link to your email address — you never type your old password into the app.
On your phone
- Step 1: Tap Account in the bottom navigation bar.
- Step 2: Tap Security in the section list.
- Step 3: In the Sign-In card, find the Password row — it reads "Send a reset link to your email address."
- Step 4: Tap Update Password.
On your computer
- Step 1: Click My Account at the bottom of the left-hand navigation sidebar.
- Step 2: Select the Security tab.
- Step 3: In the Sign-In card, click Update Password.
Finish in your email
- Step 1: Open your email inbox and look for the reset message from MyWatchtower (check your spam folder too).
- Step 2: Follow the link in the email.
- Step 3: Type your new password and save it.
- Step 4: Sign in with the new password from then on.
Why change your password?
Changing your password helps keep your account safe. Do this if:
- You think someone else knows your password
- You haven't changed it in a long time
- You want to make it stronger
Tips for a good password
- Use letters, numbers, and symbols
- Make it at least 8 characters long
- Don't use your name or birthday
- Don't reuse the same password across sites
Tip: For even more account safety, turn on Two-Factor Authentication in the same Security section — see How to Turn on Two-Factor Authentication.
Need help?
If the reset email never arrives, make sure you're checking the inbox for the email address you sign in with, and try again after a few minutes. Still stuck? Use the Contact Support page in the app.
