Security and Password Settings

The Security section is where you manage your password, turn Two-Factor Authentication on or off, and delete your account if you no longer need it. This guide explains each option.

Getting to Security settings

Updating your password

Password changes work through an emailed reset link rather than typing your old password in the app.

Choose a strong password that:

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two-Factor Authentication adds an extra layer of account safety: signing in requires both your password and a six-digit code from an authenticator app (TOTP), such as Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy.

See How to Turn on Two-Factor Authentication for the full walkthrough.

Deleting your account

If you no longer need your MyWatchtower account, the Account Deletion card lets you permanently delete it: "Deleting your account will permanently remove your account and all associated data."

If you own or manage properties, transfer ownership or remove yourself properly before deleting your account. See How to Delete Your Account for details on what happens to your data.
