How to Configure Your Notification Settings in MyWatchtower

MyWatchtower keeps you informed about visitor arrivals, gate activity, and property requests through email and push notifications. You can tailor which channels you use. This article walks through configuring the notification settings on your account.

Step 1 – Open the Notifications section

Step 2 – Choose your channels

By default, MyWatchtower enables both email and push notifications for important events such as:

The incident reports switch controls whether you receive emailed incident reports, where incident reporting applies to you.

Toggle any switch on or off. Nothing changes until you save.

Step 3 – Save

When you change a switch, the action bar at the bottom of the section reads Unsaved changes.

Device considerations for push

Push notifications rely on your mobile device. Make sure MyWatchtower has permission to send notifications in your phone's system settings (iOS or Android). If you disable notifications at the device level, the switch in MyWatchtower has no effect until you re-allow them.

What about SMS?

MyWatchtower does not offer SMS/text-message notifications. Email and push are the two delivery channels, plus the emailed incident reports.

Unsubscribing by email

Notification emails include an unsubscribe link. Following it opens a confirmation page that switches your email notifications off without signing in. Re-enable them any time from the Notifications section.

Best practices

MyWatchtower's notification settings keep you aware of activity at your property while letting you choose exactly how you're reached.
