How to Create a QR Code for Your Guest
Residents can create entry QR codes for existing guest, vendor, or resident profiles. A guest's or vendor's code is only valid while their access is — the code automatically follows the profile's dates.
QR codes are created in a short two-step wizard.
1 — Start the wizard
You can start from any of these places:
- The Generate QR tile on your dashboard ("Create a quick entry code").
- Your Property page > QR Codes tab > the create button.
- The New button in the QR CODES section of your wallet.
- A guest's or vendor's own page — starting there skips straight to the configuration step, with the person already selected.
2 — Select who the QR code is for
On the Select Type step:
- Pick the property, if you hold more than one.
- Choose the code holder type: Guest ("A friend or relative"), Vendor ("A business or delivery service"), or Resident.
- Search for and select the specific person. The person must already exist — if your guest isn't registered yet, add them first (the guest wizard can create a QR code at the same time via Enable QR Code Access).
3 — Configure the QR code
On the Configure QR Code step, choose the usage limit:
- One-time use — valid for a single scan.
- Limited uses — set the Maximum uses allowed.
- Unlimited uses — for guests and vendors, unlimited scans within their access date range; for residents, no expiry. Your community may cap daily uses of unlimited codes.
A plain-language summary below the options confirms exactly what the code will allow.
4 — Create the code
Select Create. You'll see a confirmation, and the code appears under the QR Codes tab on your Property page.
5 — View, share, and download

- Select the code in the list to view it, and again to enlarge it.
- Use Share to send it to your guest directly, or Download to save the image and send it yourself.
- Your guest simply shows the code on their phone at the gate or kiosk — the image is all they need.
If you display one of your own resident codes from the wallet, the app raises your screen brightness automatically so the code scans easily.
6 — Manage existing QR codes
- Delete — select the trash icon next to a code and confirm to revoke it immediately. The guest or vendor profile itself is not affected.
- One-time codes disappear from the list automatically once they've been used.
If you don't see QR code options anywhere, your community may have the feature turned off — contact your community's management office.
