How to Turn on Two-Factor Authentication

What is Two-Factor Authentication?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) adds extra safety to your account. When you sign in, you'll need:

The Enable Two-Factor Authentication dialog walks you through a short stepper — generate the setup, verify a code, then confirm:

Turning 2FA off

In the same row, select Disable 2FA (a red button). Enter a current code from your authenticator app to verify, then confirm. You'll be signed out again once it's disabled.

Why use 2FA?

Tip: Keep your authenticator app installed before deleting or replacing your phone — you'll need a code to sign in or to disable 2FA.
