With social sign-on, you use an account that you already have to sign in to MyWatchtower. MyWatchtower accepts a Google, Apple or Facebook account. You do not need a separate MyWatchtower password.
How social sign-on works
When you select a provider, MyWatchtower opens the sign-in page of that provider. You sign in there, and the provider tells MyWatchtower who you are. MyWatchtower does not see your provider password. In the iOS and Android apps, the sign-in page of the provider opens in a browser window in the app. After you sign in, the app opens again.
The web app and the iOS and Android apps show the same three buttons, in the same order: Google, Apple and Facebook. On a very narrow screen, each button shows only the logo of the provider.
Sign in with a provider
1. Open the Sign in page.
2. At the top of the form, above or use email, select Google, Apple or Facebook.
3. Sign in with the provider. If the provider asks, let it share your basic profile with MyWatchtower.
4. MyWatchtower opens your dashboard.
If you turned on two-factor sign-in in MyWatchtower, the Two-step verification page opens after the provider sign-in. Type the 6-digit code from your authenticator app, then select Verify.
Sign up with a provider
You can also make your MyWatchtower account with a provider.
1. Open the Create your account page. On the Sign in page, select Create account.
2. At the top of the form, select Google, Apple or Facebook.
3. Sign in with the provider.
4. The Welcome steps start. Type your phone number, then find your home address. When you confirm your home, MyWatchtower sends a request to your community office.
MyWatchtower can ask you to accept its terms before the Welcome steps. Until your community office approves the request, your dashboard shows Your request is waiting for approval.
To sign up with an email address, use the fields under or use email. Type your first name, your last name, your email address and a password, then type the password again. Accept the terms and select Create account.
Tips
- Use the same sign-in method each time.
- Social sign-on is optional. You can use an email address and a password.
- Your provider account now opens MyWatchtower too. Turn on two-factor sign-in for your provider account.
