What Is Social Sign-On and How Do I Use It?
MyWatchtower lets you sign in with an account you already have from a trusted provider — Google, Apple, or Facebook. This is called social sign-on, and it means you can use MyWatchtower without creating a separate password.
Understanding social sign-on
Social sign-on uses your existing provider account to verify your identity. When you choose Google, Apple, or Facebook, MyWatchtower sends you to that provider's own secure sign-in page. You authenticate there, and the provider confirms who you are back to MyWatchtower. MyWatchtower never sees your provider password. In the mobile app, this happens in a secure in-app browser and returns you to the app automatically.

Signing in with a social provider
- Step 1: Open the MyWatchtower sign-in page ("Welcome Back").
- Step 2: At the top of the form, above the "or use email" divider, you'll see three round icon buttons: Google, Apple, and Facebook. Tap the one matching the account you used.
- Step 3: Enter your provider credentials if prompted, and approve access to your basic profile information.
- Step 4: You're returned to MyWatchtower, signed in.
Signing up with a social provider
Social sign-on is also a first-class way to create your account. The sign-up form offers Google and Apple:
- Step 1: On the sign-up page ("Create your account"), tap the Google or Apple button at the top of the form.
- Step 2: Authenticate with your provider.
- Step 3: You go straight into the welcome onboarding, which collects your phone number, then your home address, then connects you to your community. A matched address files a property request for your community's staff to approve.
Prefer email? Use the fields below the "or use email" divider instead — just your first and last name, an email, and a password.
Tips
- Always tap the same provider button you signed up with, so you land in the same account.
- Social sign-on is optional. If you'd rather keep separate credentials, email and password sign-up works exactly the same way.
- Keep your provider account itself secure — enable multi-factor authentication with your provider, since that account now unlocks MyWatchtower too.
