Managing Your Account Settings
Your account settings let you update your personal information, control notifications, manage how you sign in, review your communities, and choose how the app looks. This guide explains how to get there and what each section does.
Accessing your account settings
Desktop (website)
- Step 1: Select My Account at the bottom of the left-hand navigation sidebar.
- Step 2: The account area opens on Personal Details, and a tab bar across the top lets you switch between sections.
Mobile app
- Step 1: Tap Account in the bottom navigation bar.
- Step 2: You'll land on an Account settings list showing your identity card (avatar, name, and email) and one row per section, each with a short summary — for example, which notification channels are on, whether 2FA is enabled, and your current theme.
- Step 3: Tap a section row to open it.
The five sections
The account area is organized into five sections, in this order:
- Personal Details – Update your first and last name, change your email address, and edit your phone number.
- Notifications – Control how MyWatchtower reaches you with switches for email notifications, push notifications, and incident reports.
- Security – Update your password, enable or disable Two-Factor Authentication, or delete your account.
- Communities – See the communities your access applies to, and add more by searching for your address and submitting a property request.
- Appearance – Choose between the Light and Dark themes using the preview cards.
Saving changes
When you edit something, a persistent action bar appears with the status Unsaved changes and two buttons: Discard and Save (shown as Save changes on mobile). Nothing is applied until you save, and the bar confirms All changes saved when it's done. If a save fails, your edits stay in place and the bar offers Retry.
