Send a Mass Announcement

Send a Mass Announcement

A mass announcement is a one-shot send to your whole community by email and push notification. It goes out immediately and cannot be recalled, so this guide walks the whole flow — compose, preview, confirm — with the checks worth making before you commit.

For a persistent banner instead (office hours, pool season), use the Message of the Day — see "Set the Message of the Day".

Open the composer

Go to Settings > Announcements. The page opens Mass Announcements with two tabs: New Announcement and Announcement History. If the tab is missing, your role may lack the announcements permission.

Compose

Check before sending

Confirm the send

Send Announcement stays disabled until the form is valid and at least one recipient exists. Clicking it opens Confirm Mass Announcement, which restates the recipient counts and selected channels and warns: "This action cannot be undone. The announcement will be sent immediately to all users." Type the word SEND in the confirmation field, then click Send Announcement.

Afterwards: Announcement History

The Announcement History tab lists every past send with its title, sent date, channel chips, and a recipients-count chip. Click a row for the full record — the email subject and body, the push title and message, and a searchable Recipients list showing which channels reached each person. That per-recipient view is the place to look when someone asks why they did or didn't receive a message.

For how announcements compare with the Message of the Day, see "Community Announcements and the Message of the Day".
