MyWatchtower is the access control platform your community uses to manage who comes through its gates. It runs in any modern web browser and as native apps for iOS and Android, so residents, gate staff, and administrators all work from the same live data. This article introduces the pieces you'll use most as a new user.
You can sign up with an email address and password, or with one tap using a social sign-in provider such as Google or Apple. Either way, the welcome wizard starts right after sign-up and walks you through adding your phone number, searching for your home address, and connecting to your community — no invite code needed. Until your community approves your request, you'll have a limited Pending Resident view.
Once approved, your Dashboard becomes home base:
Communities with attended gates use Mission Control, the live gate-operations workspace. Gate staff search properties and visitors, call the property's priority contacts, scan driver's licenses and QR codes, record approved or denied entries, and open the gate — all from one screen.
At gates without an attendant, a kiosk tablet lets visitors enter on their own using a Pin Code, a QR Code, or the Directory, which calls a resident for approval. Communities can also offer a Help button that connects visitors to a Live Agent for assistance — see Live Assist and Live Agent for how that service works.
Everything syncs in real time: add a guest from your phone and gate staff see them immediately. The native apps add push notifications and other on-the-go conveniences, while the web app offers the full feature set on a larger screen — see the article comparing the web and native experiences for details.
Explore the rest of the knowledge base for step-by-step guides on guests, vendors, vehicles, QR codes, PIN codes, and more. If you get stuck, use the Contact Support form in the app or reach out to your community's management office.
