Working Across Multiple Communities

community-adminmission-control

If your account has access to more than one community, MyWatchtower gives you a community switcher plus a few group-aware conveniences so staff serving several related communities can work without constantly hopping between them. This guide is for staff and operators.

Switching Communities

On mobile, a full-page Select a Community screen offers the same list. If your account only has access to one community, the switcher is hidden entirely.

Grouped Communities

Some communities are managed together as a group — for example, an East and West section run by one operator. Grouped communities appear as a single row in the switcher, labeled with the group's name, instead of one row per member. Selecting the group keeps you in whichever member community you were already in (or the group's first community). Everything else in the app still works one community at a time.

Group-Wide Search in Mission Control

When your current community belongs to a group and your account can access more than one of its members, Mission Control's property and visitor searches automatically span the whole group — one search box covers every member community.

Guest and vendor schedules are evaluated in each community's own local timezone, so an entry window means the same thing regardless of which community you're viewing from.

Choosing a Community When Creating Records

When you create something new — a guest, resident, user, credential, entry QR code, group, schedule, access level, or a mass announcement — and you have write access in more than one community of the group, the form shows a Community dropdown. Use it to choose which community the new record belongs to before saving. If you only have write access in one community, the dropdown does not appear and the record is created there.
