Requesting Access to Your Property

Send a property request to connect your account to your home, add documents, and follow the request until your community office approves it.

A property request asks your community office to connect your account to a home. The office checks the request. When the office approves it, you become the Owner of the property and you can manage it in MyWatchtower.

Where to start

You can send a request from three places:

  • Find your home on the dashboard. You see it when your account is not linked to a community yet.
  • Property Request on the dashboard. You see it when you belong to the community but have no property in it. This search finds addresses in that community only.
  • Account > Communities. Select Join Another Community for a home in another MyWatchtower community. Select Request Property Access for another home in the community that is open.

Send a request from Find your home

1. In Home address, type your street address. The search starts at 3 characters and covers each MyWatchtower community.

2. Select your home in the list.

3. If you want, type a note in Notes for the office, for example the date that you moved in.

4. If you want, select Attach documents. You can attach up to 5 files of 5 MB or less each, as PDF, PNG, JPG, DOC or DOCX. A deed, a lease or a utility bill helps the office approve your request.

5. Select Send request.

The dashboard then shows "Your request is waiting for approval" and the steps of How you get access. Your earlier requests show under Past requests.

If the search does not find your address, contact your community office. The office can add your home.

Send a request from the Property Request panel

The Property Request panel on the dashboard and the Request Property Access page have the same form.

1. In Search for a property, type your address and select your property.

2. If you want, type a note under Notes.

3. If you want, select Attach supporting documents (optional). Each pick adds one file. You can attach up to 5 files of 5 MB or less each, and 15 MB in total.

4. Select Request Access.

When you already have a pending or denied request, the form shows the Pending Requests and Denied Requests lists first. Select Create New Request to open the form, then select Submit Request.

Join another community

1. Go to Account > Communities and select Join Another Community.

2. In Property address, type your address and select your property. The search covers each MyWatchtower community.

3. If you want, type a note in Additional Notes (Optional).

4. If you want, select Attach proof of ownership/residency (optional). This form takes one file of 5 MB or less.

5. Select Submit.

The page then shows Request Submitted.

You cannot send a second request for a property while your first request for it is pending or approved.

Follow your request

Select a request on the dashboard to open its page. The page shows the status of the request, your address, phone number and email address, your note and your documents. A pending request shows Waiting for review.

To add documents, select Select Files to Upload, choose the files, then select the upload button. A request can hold up to 5 documents of 5 MB or less each.

You cannot cancel a request in the app. To cancel one, contact your community office.

When the office decides

When the office approves your request, you become the Owner of the property. If you had no role in that community, you also become a Resident of it. You get a notification and an email. The property then shows in the app, with your guests, vehicles and credentials.

When the office denies your request, you get a notification and an email with the reason. The request page shows the reason under Reason for Denial. To send the request again, select Resubmit Request, type more information in Additional Notes, and select Resubmit Request.

Community staff approve or deny each request in Access > Property Requests.

If your request waits

Your community office approves each request. JEKA does not. If your request waits for a long time, contact your community office and have your address ready. For a problem with the app, select Help on a phone or Help Center on a computer.
